Tom McGillen
Electronic Sound Specialist
Tom McGillen currently serves as the percussion specialist for the Broken Arrow Public Schools. He is also the percussion arranger for the Pride of Broken Arrow Marching Band. During his tenure at Broken Arrow, the ensemble has been a consistent Bands of America Grand National Finalist, winning the 2006 BOA Grand National Championship.
In addition to his duties at Broken Arrow, Mr. McGillen serves as the electronic designer and sound reinforcement specialist for the Cavaliers and Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps. He has an active arranging and consulting schedule for numerous high school and collegiate programs across the country.
Mr. McGillen received a Master of Music in Percussion Pedagogy and Performance and a Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma State University. During his time at Oklahoma State, he performed with the wind symphony and percussion ensemble at the PASIC, CBNA, WASBE, and BASBE conventions. He has performed on premiers from noted composers such as David Gillingham and Ney Rosauro.
McGillen is an artist with Innovative Percussion Inc, Evans Drumheads, and Planet Waves cables.
Tom resides in Owasso, Oklahoma with his wife Melissa and his energetic son Jackson.
